I love this restaurant and it's Italian style of food. Dishes from Emilia Romagna. It always make me smile when I eat Italian food like the dishes at Morini. I'm so tired of eating at restaurants, very good ones I might add, that always seem to add dishes to the menu that ruin my impression of the restaurant. Tilapia? Penne Vodka? Sundried tomatoes etc? C'mon! Michael White I might add is one of my favorite chefs. However, during my last experience at Morini I was very disappointed, not in the food, but how things were handled. We had an excellent waitress in Christina. No issues. However, after ordering appetizers and our first course everything went well until one of our guests waited forever for his meal. The kitchen never made his order. I can understand that things happen, but after our waitress did what she could, put the order in again, which he refused because we were about to order dessert, I don't understand why management didn't comp him something like a dessert, a cocktail or whatever? Or, why the maitre'd d didn't stop by the table? I've always worked in the high end food business and this is a basic to me. Very disappointing and kind of ruined the night. Our guest came all the way from NYC to help celebrate with us and left very disappointed. Moreover, some of my guests were Italians who ordered some espresso only to send it back. The second time only slightly better. Again quite disappointed in that the staff wasn't properly trained on the making of espresso. Other than the above issues, I will definitely be back. That's how much I'm willing to forget our experience. See you soon.
